Chief Accountant – Regional Office - Marruecos
ABOUT THE COMPANY
Calsina Carré is a multinational logistics and transport group headquartered in Pont de Molins (Girona, Spain), with operations across Europe and North Africa. The group operates through multiple legal entities in Spain, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Morocco, Tunisia, and Romania, covering Road and Multimodal Transport, logistics warehousing, and fuel services.
The Finance Function is undergoing a significant transformation - consolidating as a global organization with centralized Group Finance (HQ), regional teams, and a Shared Services Center. SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud has been implemented as the single financial platform across all entities. The objective is to standardize, automate, and scale financial operations while empowering regional teams with clear ownership of local accounting, tax, and compliance.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the financial and accounting function at one of our regional offices in Morocco. This role combines hands-an accounting leadership with team management and cross-border coordination.
As Chief Accountant, you will be the go-to finance expert in the region - responsible for ensuring full compliance with local accounting and tax regulations, managing the monthly closing cycle, overseeing banking operations, and leading a team of 4 finance professionals. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy on local matters, while coordinating closely with the Group Finance team at HQ to ensure alignment with corporate policies, reporting standards, and SAP processes.
This is a key position within our matrix organization: you report directly to the local General Manager, while maintaining a strong functional connection with the CFO and Group Finance.
Key Responsabilities
- Lead the full accounting cycle and monthly/year-end closing process, ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies and reporting deadlines.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and audit coordination.
- Manage local tax compliance, including statutory filings, VAT, corporate taxes, and coordination with external tax advisors.
- Oversee treasury operations, including cash management, banking relationships, supplier payments, and liquidity planning with Group Treasury.
- Supervise Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Sales Invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
- Lead and develop a team of four finance professionals, ensuring effective workload distribution, cross-training, and performance management.
- Act as the main liaison with Group Finance (HQ), implementing corporate policies, reporting requirements, and finance transformation initiatives.
- Provide financial support and business insights to local management, contributing to budgeting and operational decision-making.
